What To Expect

1. Initial Meeting

It usually takes an hour. If you've saved a collection of inspirational photos that relate to your project, this would be a good time to pull them out and share them with your design pro.  We will need to tour the space, while taking measurements, sketching, and taking photographs in order to gain an understanding of work to be done and to gain a sense of the architecture. Clients should feel free to discuss the areas, their concerns and the desired outcomes. Finally, we will take a look at design trends and styles, selecting 2 or 3 colour schemes, discussion of budget and outlining the scope of work to be completed. To conclude the consultation, you will receive a follow up email with all of the information we discussed at our meeting.

2. The Work Proposal

Our first meeting impressed you! We're as excited as you to get started. We email you a proposal for the work that includes the proposed budget, the scope of work, the hourly rate (if applicable) and the deposit due.

3. Design Development

Now we get busy to create a custom floorplan for you incorporating your current furniture (that stays) and including my suggestions for new pieces for your approval. Another meeting will be necessary to review the plan with you so that we can review traffic-flow patterns, seating arrangements, scale and proportion for new pieces. With your stamp of approval on the floorplan, we will proceed to the next stage.

4. Furnishings Presentation

At this very exciting meeting we use color & material boards along with your personal floorplan for a very specific presentation that can include wall colors, furniture, fabric, art, carpet, area rugs, drapery, blinds, light fixtures, linens and accessories. Bids from sub-contractors are reviewed and your budget will be confirmed. If all is satisfactory you provide the necessary deposits to order.

5. Project Management

If we have placed orders for furnishings on your behalf, we will manage them, checking in with manufacturers regularly to monitor progress. Items will ship with our trusted shippers and installation will be trusted only to our white glove delivery team (under our watchful eyes!). We oversee the placement of all furnishings according to our approved design plan.

Of course, each project is unique! Contact Us to discuss your project.
